THE OPPORTUNITY

As our first Platform Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping how we build, deploy, and operate software at Mover.

You’ll design and maintain the infrastructure and tooling that powers our engineering teams and supports our cloud-based, microservices-driven architecture.

This role is highly hands-on. You’ll work closely with product and engineering teams to improve developer productivity, platform reliability, and infrastructure scalability.

In short: you’ll help build the engine that powers everything we do.

THE JOB

• Designing, developing, and maintaining a scalable and resilient cloud infrastructure to support our overall architecture with microservices and event-driven architecture

• Collaborating closely with the engineering teams to create and optimize CI/CD pipelines, ensuring seamless deployment and integration of software services

• Ensuring cost visibility and FinOps best practices across engineering teams, helping the organisation understand, monitor, and optimise cloud spend

• Continuously optimizing solutions for cost ands for monitoring, logging, and alerting to track infrastructure performance and identify potential issues

• Providing technical expertise in the evaluation, selection, and deployment of cloud-native technologies, tools, and best practices

• Developing and maintaining infrastructure as code (IaC) templates, scripts, and automation tools to streamline infrastructure management

• Troubleshooting and resolving infrastructure-related issues, working closely with the development team to identify root causes and implement effective solutions

• Ensuring infrastructure security and compliance with industry standards and best practices

• Staying up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in the cloud infrastructure domain and share insights with the team to drive continuous improvement

ABOUT YOU

With a background in software technology and preferably experience in a scale-up or start-up, you have a proven track record of architecting and maintaining robust cloud infrastructure for microservices and event-driven systems.

To be considered a highly attractive candidate for this role, you likely possess most of the following traits:

• At least 3+ years of experience working with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and knowledge within serverless technologies such as Azure Functions or AWS Lambda

• Experience in cost-optimisation of cloud infrastructure

• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab, or CircleCI

• Solid understanding of networking, security, and monitoring concepts in a cloud environment

• Self-starting and hands-on problem-solving skills, being able to find your way in ambiguous settings and the roller coaster ride that a scale-up can be

• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team
